Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway Started to Build

December 10, 1987, the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway ceremony was held in Beijing Daxing County.

Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway is one of key construction projects, also the first expressway which is through international competitive bidding. In the tender, a total of 12 countries and 32 regions participated in the bidding contractors. Finally, Sino-French and Sino-Japan consortium winned.

It starts in the west from the Southeast Fourth Ring Road, Beijing and goes eastward to the Hebei Road, Tanggu District of Tianjin. With a total length of 142.69 km, the section running through the territory of Tianjin is 100.85 km.

There are 43 bridges and six butterfly-type overpasses spanning the Tianjin section of the expressway. There are six exits, that is, Yangcun Station, Yixingbu Station, Jinzhong Rd. Station, Tianjin Airport Station, Tianjin Tanggu Station, Tianjin Junlian gcheng Station (unopened). The expressway has four lanes and overpasses. Traffic entrance and exit are under control. The expressway has complete service facilities, and advanced monitoring system.
