Sanofi-Aventis will Open up Chinese Influenza Vaccine Market

Sanofi-AventisFrench pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Aventis hopes that after the company's the pharmaceutical factory in Shenzhen officially put into operation in 2012, the company could sell 2.5 million seasonal influenza vaccine in China.

Wayne Pisano is the head of Sanofi-Pasteur, the vaccine branch of Sanofi-Aventis, said Monday that China each year the crowd of take against seasonal influenza viruses was only 2% of the total population, only a small fraction of the vaccination rate of Europe and the United States.

In Hong Kong, Pisano said that in Europe and North America, the vaccination rate is about 20% to 40%. Because the use of new vaccine production facilities in China, Sanofi-Aventishave will raise the capacity to 25 million immediately, and as China's demand increase, we still have a lot of production space.

Sanofi-Aventis invests 7,000,000 euros on the pharmaceutical factory. In the process of vaccine production, the factory will made the use of antigen. This antigen will be nurtured by eggs.

When be asked in view of China's food safety problem, how the companies to ensure that product quality. Pisano replied that we have to adopt uniform quality standards, the quality of products and equipments in Shenzhen will be same as France and the United States.

Pisano said Sanofi-Aventis have selected 50 candidates for chicken plant, and will select the final two can meet its quality standards.

Wang Yung-ching Passed Away

Wang Yung-chingOct. 16, according to Taiwan TVBS reported that Mr. Wang Yung-ching died at age 93 in New Jersey. Tonight he will be transported back to Taiwan by EVA Air.

It is reported that because worried about the U.S. financial turmoil impact on the Taiwan, Oct. 11, Wang Yung-ching went to the United States to inspect its production line and the plants with his wife and children. But in the morning of 15, Wang Yung-ching was taken to a hospital in New Jersey, then died due to heart and lung failure at 9:38.

Wang Yung-ching (18 January 1917 – 15 October 2008) also known as YC Wang, was an influential entrepreneur who founded a large chemical business empire in Taiwan. According to the 2008 Forbes survey, he was the 178th richest person in the world with an estimated net worth of US$5.5 billion. He was born in Hsintien township, Taiwan. Despite lacking any formal schooling beyond elementary school, he is currently ranked 2nd in the Forbes list of Taiwan's Richest.

Wang served as the chairman of the board of Formosa Plastics Corporation, one of the largest plastic manufacturers in the world, until June 2006, when he stepped down at the age of 89. He remained chairman of the boards of Nan Ya Plastics Corporation, Formosa Chemistry & Fibre Corporation, and Cyma Plywood & Lumber Co. Ltd, but indicated his intention to gradually resign from these positions as well before his death. He was chairman of Ming-chi Institute of Technology, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, and Chang Gung University. He had been a vocal supporter of the Three Links between Taiwan and mainland China.

Lenovo Consider Acquisition of Shares in Fujitsu Siemens Computers

Fujitsu Siemens ComputersIn the domestic PC market suffered a downturn, Lenovo possibly make a large-scale acquisitions in order to increase market share in Europe.

Recently, it is reported that the Chinese computer manufacturer Lenovo Group is considering the acquisition of shares in Fujitsu Siemens Computers. Lenovo Group said it is considering the option to all acquire.

Siemens has been ready to withdraw from Fujitsu Siemens Computers for a long time. Fujitsu Siemens Computers' headquartered in the Maarssen, Netherlands. The company mainly operate computer manufacturing and development in a few major cities of German.

German media quoted the CEO of Lenovo Bill Amelio saying that as long as a reasonable price, it may consider various options.

German media speculated that transactions may occur in a several ways. If Siemens plans to sell its all shares or only part of the shares, Fujitsu may buy its shares and the sell its consumer business to Lenovo. Lenovo and Siemens refused to comment on this speculation.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers is European largest computer manufacturer, and its market value is about 10 billion euros.

HTC Touch HD will Become Google Phone G2

CAS Launched Loongson-1

China Loongson-1Loongson, formerly Godson is a universal CPU launched by the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, through some of their own design, some of the patents licensing.

Loongson-1 use reduced instruction set computing, similar to the MIPS instruction set. The speed of the first type is 266MHz, in the first started in Octber 13, 2002.

Loongson-2 has the highest speed of 1GHz. Godson-3 was launched in the fall of 2008, targeting the multi-core design.

At present, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has research program of supercomputer which uses Loongson processor.

Ford Plans to Sell Part of Stake in Mazda

Ford MotorInformed sources have said because of the decline in car sales, the spread of financial crisis and debt burden, Ford Motor Company is considering the sale of some shares of Japan's Mazda Motor Corp.

Ford currently holds a total of 33.4 percent stake in Mazda, the market value of 1.36 billion U.S. dollars.

Japan NHK World TV said earlier on the 11th, Ford has approached a number of Japanese companies, is considering selling its 20% stake in Mazda.

Japanese media have reported that Mazda's business partner Sumitomo Group is considering buying some shares, in addition to India's Tata Motors may also be a potential buyer. It is reported that Ford is unlikely sell the shares in Mazda to other fellow competitors in Japan.
