The first Airbus A320 aircraft assembled in China is scheduled to make a test flight in May.
The flight will be held at Tianjin Airport, where a new runway is being built to facilitate trial flights of all A320 aircraft, Feng Zhijiang, head of the administrative committee of the Tianjin Free Trade Zone, said.
Five A320s are currently being put together at the Tianjin final assembly line, the first Airbus production facility outside Europe.
Several major parts of the aircraft were put together in Hamburg, Germany, before being transported to Tianjin for final assembly, Feng said.
"Twelve more A320s will be assembled in Tianjin and delivered next year," he said.
"They will incorporate some locally made parts, including the wings and fuselage. Assembly of the major parts will be done here in Tianjin."
The Airbus A320 final assembly line in Tianjin opened in September as the company's third general assembly line. The other two are in France and Germany. The Tianjin facility is used for assembling A319s and A320s.
The first Airbus A320 plane assembled in China's northern city Tianjin is due to be delivered to the domestic Sichuan Airlines. The second Tianjin-manufacturered A320 is to be delivered to the domestic Hainan Airlines, and the third to Shenzhen Airlines. The remainder of the eight planes on the delivery schedule for this year were either for China Eastern Airlines or Hainan Airlines.
According to a report by the Tianjin Airport-based Industrial Zone, China has become the world's second largest aviation market after the United States. The country is estimated to need 2,670 passenger planes in the next 20 years.

Macau International Airport Commenced Operation
Macau International Airport commenced operation in December 8, 1995. Since then, it has rapidly established itself as a vital link between the Pearl River Delta, the fastest growing economic region in the world, and the rest of the world. Macau’s hinterland is Zhuhai, one of China's Special Economic Zones, and a regional manufacturing powerhouse. With well-established and efficient direct land and sea links to neighbouring regions, Macau International Airport is ideally positioned as a hub for freight and express cargo in the Asia-Pacific.
Macau International Airport is a fully functional 24-hour airport. An 11,000-foot ILS CAT II equipped runway, constructed in strict accordance with ICAO standards, is capable of handling long haul flights. Phase one of the airport is equipped with a full range of passenger and cargo facilities designed to handle six million passengers and 165,000 metric tons of freight a year.
Macau International Airport is presently operating under capacity. The airport is not congested and has ample excess capacity for future expansion. In anticipation of its future role as an Asian entertainment and convention centre, Macau is forging new air services agreements with regional and intercontinental destinations in the Asia-Pacific, Europe, America, and Southern Africa. As a preferred entry point to the vast China market, Macau's 24-hour airport offers passenger and cargo airlines, travel organizations, and the airfreight industry a convenient and flexible alternative to the region's increasingly congested international airports.

Qamdo Bangda Airport Began to Build
December 1, 1992, Qamdo Bangda Airport began to build. Qamdo Bangda Airport located in Bangda, Qamdo, Tibet, is the highest airport in the world, with an altitude of 4,334 metres (14,219 ft). At 5,500 m (18,045 ft), runway 14/32 is the longest publicly use runway in the world. The low air density at this altitude makes a higher takeoff and landing true airspeed necessary, and therefore a longer runway. The airport is 2.5 hours by mountain road from the county seat of Chamdu/Changdu/Qamdo. The long compute is the result of no flat land closer to the city being available to construct an airport.
Visitors are warned before landing to move slowly on leaving the plane and that they may feel light headed or dizzy because of the thin air.

But with only a 40-hp, 400cc Suzuki motorcycle engine motivating the 660-pound one-seater, V-Max is a very limited 90 mph. Regardless, the Fuoss should be an entertaining track tool, particularly with its five-speed sequential transmission cribbed from Suzuki keeping the motor on boil. The driver sits as low as possible and with no heavy roof overhead, mass is centralized down low. Only ten examples are planned for its first year of production in 2009, so if you want one of the €29,000 machines, you'd better act fast.

Jingjiu Railway was Completed
Jingjiu Railway was completed on 16. November 1995. Jingjiu Railway (also known as Beijing-Kowloon Railway, Beijing-Kowloon Line) is a railway in the People's Republic of China connecting Beijing West Station in Beijing to Shenzhen Station in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. It then follows the rail-link between Shenzhen to the special administrative region of Hong Kong to Hung Hom Station (Kowloon Station) in Kowloon.
It is a dual-track railway. Construction began in February 1993. It was opened in 1996, connecting Beijing and Kowloon through Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Anhui, Hubei, Jiangxi and Guangdong, with a length of 2397 kilometres. It has 790 bridges and 160 tunnels. The Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge, at a length of 7,679 metres, is the longest across the Yangtze River. Located between Jinghu Railway (Beijing-Shanghai) and Jingguang Railway (Beijing-Guangzhou), it was built to alleviate the congested Jingguang Railway, and to foster development in the areas to the east of Jingguang Railway.
The idea had been proposed for a long time, and some of the sections, such as the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge, were built before construction of the whole line official began. Some were converted from existing sections, such as between Jiujiang and Nanchang, and Fouyang and Shangqiu.
It shares the same route with the Guangmeishan Railway (Guangzhou-Meizhou-Shantou Railway) between Longchuan and Dongguan. It joins the Guangshen Railway (Guangzhou-Shenzhen Railway, formerly the Chinese Section of the Kowloon-Canton Railway) at Dongguan, and follows the same route. Within Hong Kong, it shares the same pair of tracks with the East Rail Line (formerly British Section of the Kowloon-Canton Railway).
Beijing-Kowloon Through Train services are currently provided on the Jingguang Railway and Guangshen Railway, instead of the Jingjiu Railway. Passengers are required to go through customs and immigration checks for the cross-border service.

Ryanair to Launch Low-Fare Transatlantic Flights
Budget airline Ryanair plans to offer trans-Atlantic flights as cheap as 10 euros ($12.70) before taxes to several U.S. cities from Britain and Ireland.
In an interview with Flight International magazine, Mr O'Leary, the Ryanair boss said he intended to fly to five or six US cities from Ryanair's 23 European bases before the end of the decade.
"Economy class will be very cheap - around €10. But our business class will be very expensive. There's always 10-15 per cent who'll pay whatever it costs for a wide seat," O'Leary said.
The €10 flights, which could begin by the end of next year, would be available for those booking early. Passengers would pay airport taxes on top of the fares. Mr O'Leary is expected to announce plans to buy more than 50 aircraft as part of his vision to help Ryanair beat the recession.
O'Leary said they will just have to keep flying more aircraft, opening up more routes and offering people more cheap flights.
Background
Ryanair was Europe's original low fares airline and is still Europe's largest low fares carrier. In the current year Ryanair will carry 52m passengers on 800 low fare routes across 26 European countries. We have 31 European bases and by the end of March 2008 Ryanair will operate a fleet of 163 new Boeing 737-800 aircraft with firm orders for a further 99 new aircraft (all net of planned disposals), which will be delivered over the next 5 years. Ryanair currently employs a team of 5,000 people, comprising over 25 different nationalities.

Mass Transit Railway Began Construction
MTR, or Mass Transit Railway, is the rapid transit railway system in Hong Kong. The MTR was built since November 3, 1975 and first began service in 1979 and officially merged with the Kowloon Canton Railway (KCR) on 2 December 2007, still bearing the same name in English. The network includes 211.6 km of rail with 150 stations, including 82 railway stations and 68 light rail stops. The MTR system is currently being operated by MTR Corporation Limited (MTRCL). Due to its efficiency and affordability, the MTR system is a common mode of public transport in Hong Kong, with over 4 million trips made in an average weekday. The integration of the Octopus smart card fare-payment technology into the MTR system in September 1997 has further enhanced the ease of commuting on the MTR.
In 1967, construction of the MTR was prompted by a government-commissioned study. The Hong Kong Government had previously commissioned a study in the 1960s to find solutions to the growing traffic problem caused by the expansion of the city's economy. Construction started soon after the release of the study, and the first line was opened in 1979. The MTR was immediately popular with residents of Hong Kong; as a result, subsequent lines have been built to cover more territory. There are continual debates regarding how and where to expand the MTR network.
