December 5, 1996, Nanjing Iron and Steel Union Company Limited (NISCO) announced that the output of steel and iron exceeded 1,000,000 tons, became the first million tons of iron and steel enterprises.Nanjing Iron and Steel Union Company Limited is a joint venture steel manufacturing enterprise established by Nanjing Iron and Steel Group and Fosun Group in 2003. It involves the pressing and smelting of ferrous metals and sales of steel materials. It is headquartered in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China.
Its subsidiary company, Nanjing Iron and Steel Company Limited (SSE: 600282) was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2000.
